I used to make a several tribute basses during the years, just to see how it fits from my angle.
Of course, I only did that in time when I have a strong realisation of a particular instrument (or builders intentions).
Well, some years ago, I made the MOTH, its a butterfly right… so, rather then store it, it may fly as well.
Very traditional sounding. Also a complex project it turned out to be.
So specs:
Canadian maple neck, ebony fingerboard, lined but fretless.
Birdseye alder body with flame walnut top. Ebony nut.
BassCulture custom made pickup, noiseless. Housed in a birdie maple cover.
ABM monorail type bridges with Graph-tech piezo saddles going to a Bartolini preamp that mixes piezo and magnetic pickups.
